ABSTRACT

Objetivo: Avaliar os efeitos de um Programa Multiprofissional de Tratamento da Obesidade (PMTO) sobre os hábitos alimentares de adolescentes de ambos os sexos. Métodos: Fizeram parte do estudo 53 adolescentes com excesso de peso, com idades entre 11 e 18 anos, sendo 30 meninas. A análise dos hábitos alimentares foi feita a partir do questionário de frequência alimentar e recordatório alimentar de 24 horas. Foram reportados dados referentes a oito semanas de intervenção. Resultados: Foi observada redução do consumo de doces (p=0,011) por parte das meninas, e de macarrão (p=0,039) e ovos (p=0,040) pelos meninos. Houve redução no valor calórico total nas meninas (p=0,006). O grupo feminino também demonstrou redução do consumo absoluto de carboidratos (p=0,016), proteínas (p=0,035), lipídios (p=0,018) e lipídios poli-insaturados (p=0,011). Quanto aos micronutrientes, houve redução no consumo de sódio (p=0,003) no mesmo grupo. Conclusão: Mudanças nos hábitos alimentares foram observadas em maior proporção no sexo feminino.


Objective: The aim of the present study was to assess the effects of a Multiprofessional Program of Obesity Treatment (PMTO) on feeding habits in male and female adolescents. Methods: In this study 53 adolescents with excess of weight aged from 11 to 18 years old, 30 girls, were included. The analysis of feeding habits was made with a food frequency questionnaire and a 24 hours recall. It was reported data related to eight weeks of intervention. Results: We observed reduction in candies consumption (p=0.011) in girls, and pasta (p=0.039) and eggs (p=0.040) in boys. Total energy intake decreased in girls (p=0.006). The female group also demonstrated reduction of carbohydrates (p=0.016), proteins (p=0.035), fat (p=0.018) and polyunsaturated fat (p=0.011). In relation to micronutrients, sodium consumption was decreased (p=0.003) in the same group. Conclusions: Changes in feeding habits were greater in girls.
